Dr. Robert Marshall M.D., a physician who has practiced and lived in Illinois for nearly three decades, announced on Tuesday, September 22 his intention to run for the U.S. Senate in the Democratic Primary on February 2, 2010. He asks for your vote and your support.
Recognizing that we stand at a pivotal moment with regards to health care reform, Dr. Marshall aims to utilize his extensive experience in health care to help bring affordable medical coverage to all Americans.

Dr. Marshall, a conservative democrat, asks for your support on the following issues:
- Recognizing the duty of the United States to responsibly withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan while supporting government-building efforts in those countries through a scaled drawdown of our servicemen and women;
- Continuing to support our troops as they strive to achieve our national security goals;
- Reform of the health care system, an area where he can bring his nearly four decades of medical practice to bear by a) taking profit and excess expenses out of health premiums with co-op systems, and b) lowering Medicare eligibility age to sixty;
- Balanced Budgets and Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution;
- Decreasing the size of the Federal Government by reducing our economic commitments to foreign countries in order to improve our domestic economy;
- Opposition to Income Tax hikes and the promotion of middle class tax cuts to stimulate economic recovery;
- Defending the rights of gun owners from those who would seek to diminish the protections of the Second Amendment;
- Combating political corruption and cronyism by supporting a) term limits for Congressmen (ten years) and U.S. Senators (twelve years), and b) public support for political campaigns;
- Opposing taxpayer-funded bailouts of corporations that have failed to make responsible business decisions.

| Dr. Marshall is a radiologist who practices in Kankakee and Joliet. He
has served on the Board of Trustees in Burr Ridge. A graduate of
Harvard Medical school, he has provided health care to literally
thousands of Illinois citizens.
Dr. Marshall served his country as a
medical officer in the United States Army Medical Corps, providing care
to our servicemen overseas. Beyond his military duties, he volunteered
at orphanages in Vietnam, providing health care to children displaced
by the conflict.
Dr. Marshall is a father of four children and
a member of the Hinsdale United Church of Christ. He has been married
to his wife, Susan, for nineteen years.
